In memory of my lovely Dad

My Story

When I signed up to do Pretty Muddy last spring, a month after my second baby was born, I was pretty confident that I was going to be back to my old self, fighting fit and full of energy by the time the actual event rocked around. 'Wishful Thinking' should clearly be my middle names. But however long it takes me to get around the course, am sure it's going to be a lot of fun with the other lovely members of my team, Kirsten Moran, Sarah Gates, Roisin Duffy and Caoilainn Moran, at my side. Despite being spectacularly unfit right now, I especially wanted to do something to raise money for cancer this year in memory of my lovely Dad who died of bowel cancer on Good Friday six years ago. This year, my son Eddie was born on Good Friday, which was just such a lovely thing for my family. But, still there's not a week that goes by that I do not wish I could have just five more minutes with my Dad, and I know we all feel the same way. So please give what you can to this truly worthwhile cause, so that one day families struck by cancer like ours, don't have to say goodbye to dads, mums, sisters, brothers or children, a moment too soon.
