My Story
In November 2021 we lost our amazing Dad to cancer, after a long and courageous fight. This July my (considerably younger and fitter) sister and I will be taking part in the Hyde Park Race for Life 10k. We will be running in memory of our Dad, Chris Bartlett. In the summer of 2021 my Dad told me he'd had a long chat with a very inspiring lady whilst they were both having treatment at The Royal Marsden. She made quite an impact on him with her positive attitude and stoicism (kindred spirits). She told him she was only given months to live at the age of 35 after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Five years on and she was still here, dancing and chatting her way through her chemotherapy and defying the odds. This remarkable lady was Deborah James @bowelbabe. The recent heart breaking news she has shared has made us all the more determined to raise money for cancer research and do our bit to help find a cure for this disease. In honour of Dad, Deborah and all the warriors out there currently fighting cancer. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
