My Story
The last time I ran race for life it was whilst my Mum was battling 2 different forms of cancer. She was so courageous, undergoing surgery, chemo and radiotherapy, over the course of a year. Although it was extremely tough, she was unwavering in her resolve to get through it and to be there for us. I am so grateful that she was able to receive the treatment she did, which meant we got to have another 10 years with her before her cancer returned. During that time both my boys were born and I am so glad they got to meet their Nanny. It breaks my heart that Max will be too young to remember her and that this time I am running in her memory. It is almost a year since she passed away and it has been one of the hardest years of my life. I signed up for race for life as I had been struggling and wanted to do something positive. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
