I was 50, morbidly obese and had been for most of my adult life, my mobility was so poor that walking had become a struggle and basic tasks such as tying up my own shoes or getting up off the sofa had become a challenge. Running a marathon or even a 5k was just a pipe dream but even so, it was right there on my bucket list of things to do in my lifetime. I felt very unwell and exhausted after recovering from covid and I had a few panic attacks which I mistook for heart attacks. It was then that I decided that things had to change. I retired from my job as a carer and on the 4th June last year I made the tough decision to leave my home and family for nearly 5 months and took myself to a residential bootcamp to change my life. As hard as the process was I lost weight and got fitter and came home last year on the 1st October with a new found love for myself and belief that I could continue my journey to a better quality of life. MY GOAL However, I needed targets and goals, support and accountability. I booked a personal trainer and resumed playing netball as well as dabbling in some Pilates classes and even a bit of Burlesque. I have now completed a Nuclear Race, 2 half marathons and done my FIRST EVER marathon in Sierra Leone in June. Early last year I booked the Night Shine Marathon not believing that I would even take part but now I'M DOING IT! If I can make a difference by continuing my journey to health and fitness then every day spent pushing myself to my limits are worth it. Every penny donated I will be extremely grateful for and any words of support or encouragement will also be massively appreciated. Stay tuned to this page for updates on my training and journey from couch to marathon. PLEASE MAKE A DONATION AND SHARE THIS PAGE. Thankyou so much for your support 😊
