My Story
Many of you will know that my Dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer this year. Going through this alongside him brought home how cruel the disease can be. During his radiotherapy, surgery and many hospital visits we saw so many people who were bravely fighting this awful disease. All of these people deserve a chance to access successful treatment to allow them to live their life. My dad was fortunate enough to have his cancer detected just in time for him to recieve life saving treatment, which I know is sadly not the case for everyone. I did not want cancer to define my Dad but I lived first hand how all consuming it is and life literally feels like it stands still. Thanks to cancer research I have my dad, my mum has her husband and his grandchildren have their grandad. I know there is still so much work to be done and anything I can raise will be a step in the right direction. This September, I’m taking on Sweatember, exercising every day of the month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured by sponsoring me.
