In memory of

My Mum

My Story

For those that don't already know, in 2017 I lost the person who was my hero, my inspiration and the person I look up to the most, my Mum, She battled through Cervical cancer back in 2012 which she got the all clear from after being so poorly with the chemotherapy and the radiotherapy. Knowing that she was cancer free after everything that happened was the best feeling in the world until March 2016 where she got diagnosed again with cancer in her Sternum, this time being incurable but being told she'd have at least 6 years so we had some time to do everything we wanted. In June 2017 she then suffered multiple strokes as a result of the chemotherapy making her blood sticky which meant she was in hospital for a good two months meaning we missed out on what would have been our last family holiday together. At the end of July, she suffered from a ruptured bowel which nearly was the end but luckily for the amazing doctors at Addenbrookes, she pulled through. We went to Olympia International Horse Show together in December which she loved and got to sit in the front row where she was handed a rosette from one of the Show Jumpers, you should have seen her face! Christmas was also amazing round my aunties which she said she had the best Christmas dinner she had ever had (go Vick!). Until Boxing Day when she felt as though food wouldn't go down properly... On the 10th January, Mum went in for an MRI scan in which she was then rushed to A&E. The cancer had spread to her esophagus meaning that she had to have a stent fitted to open up her throat. On the 10th January 2017, we were told that Mum only had a month/months to live. She passed away on Friday 27th January 2017. Through everything that had happened and was happening to her she was still determined to beat it and was so positive right until the very end.
