My Story
I was diagnosed with a recurrence of Breast Cancer in 2017, 19 years after my first diagnosis at the age of 32. My cancer was invasive and resulted in having to have my lymph nodes removed, followed by gruelling chemotherapy which resulted in my hospitalisation with sepsis. I honestly thought my time had come, I have never felt so low, physically or emotionally. With the support of my amazing Husband, some special family members and good friends I managed to come out the other side. My saving grace throughout all this were my two wonderful dogs, they gave me a reason to keep fighting and still do. I am currently taking Aromatose Inhibitors to remove all the oestrogen from my body so that the cancer has nothing to feed on, the side effects are unpleasant, painful and debilitating but they are a necessary evil. I am running Race 4 Life for all those who are fighting cancer, those who have sadly lost their fight and those supporting and caring for loved one's going through this terrible disease. Every penny helps, if you feel you would like to donate then please, please do and I will post the photos of my run when completed.
