My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k in Portsmouth, with our Daughter to raise money and save lives. Unfortunately, this is all too real for us as in June 23 our 32 year old Daughter was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. To say that the bottom fell out of our world is an understatement! She had just given birth to their Daughter nine weeks earlier, and also has a three year old Son. This was such a shock to us all, being so young and no family history. Eleven months on and navigating her way through treatments while looking after a young family has been challenging! She is amazing and never complains, and just gets on with it! April this year brought us positive news that the cancer was clear! She is now having radio therapy and continuing with immunotherapy until later this year. Cancer doesn’t discriminate, young or old, and we need to find more ways of stopping this horrible disease in its tracks, as 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. It would be much appreciated if you are able to sponsor me so Cancer Research are able to continue their amazing work, developing new and kinder treatments to help with the fight against cancer Thank you, Karen Bailey and family xxxx
