My way of contributing as a couple of friends-of-friends are battling brain cancer at the moment.
My Story
Everybody knows someone who has been affected by cancer. And that has nothing to do with NZ's two-degrees-of-separation. At the moment I have a couple of friends-of-friends who are battling brain cancer. While I don't know either of them, I just can't even fathom what they, their whanau, and their friends are going through. This Halfie is my way of contributing to scientific research. Everyone contributes to society in different ways, and if you have the means and are able: it would be incredible for you to do so via this fundraising portal. Together, let's light up the pathway of progress via the CRUK Shine Half Marathon. We're walking our way towards beating brain cancer. ........ Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. CAUSE
Brain cancers
Each year in the UK, more than 12,288 people are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. That’s 35 people every single day. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat brain cancer.
