My Story
Hello you xo, I'm not what you call your average fitness enthusiast but sometimes my heart has beaten just as loud when I stop and think about 'C'. When I was 17 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma - I was stage 4 and had to undergo chemotherapy. A lot things around me stopped but I still recall 'Magic Fm' being played out on the radio in the Macmillan ward at QE, Greenwich. I had written a diary to recall my experience. That part still hurts sometimes. They say when you are no longer in remission your life moves forward but what if it came back tomorrow? I live with that reality when I remember my 'C'. This year to mark my 32nd birthday and living beyond my cancer story I want to run a little but celebrate alot. I wouldn't have ever imagined graduating from drama school, becoming a mama, performing on stage again, planning a career, seeing through my 30th, building on my relationships (and that feeling of love) and ofcourse returning to my home town of Lusaka, Zambia. I literally trusted in God, and in my heart would talk to my dad Maybin Snr. I continue my faith in them to this day. My Brighton event - Brighton was my destination of choice chosen by my 17 year old self and the trip was all funded. I'm beyond thankful for that liberating experience, we painted the town red! It's my special place. So, I would like to help others do the most with theirs. Its that simple, and any donation will be a legit bonus. 'Always the hours' - Virgina Woolf Yours, Kanke xo
