Back in 2015, Simon Wood decided to raise funds for Cancer Research UK by organising an event that focused on his passion for singing choral music. Instead of doing a simple come-and-sing event he went big. Very big. The first event in 2016 was a marathon of learning and performing Requiem masses over a 24-hour period with singers from all over the country in a central London venue. It was so successful, we did it again in 2018 and raised even more. So far the total raised exceeds £68,000. Sadly, we lost Simon in 2019 but a few of us had committed to him to run a third event and try to reach the £100,000 mark. So, here we are. This page enables you to create your own fundraising page through which your friends and family can donate, with the amount raised being included within the overall Requiem to Cancer total. Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
