Julie's Walk All Over Cancer Fundraising Page

Some of my friends will remember January last year when my gorgeous 14 year old Nephew was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. Dan had surgery and started chemotherapy on his Mum’s birthday and I was sat holding her hand at his bedside as the first dose of chemo entered his body. I have visited Dan throughout the year and watched him endure a year of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and all the side effects that come with it. He has battled through hair loss, sickness, incontinence and severe anxiety, went from being a super fit footballer to being unable to stand up without his Mum and Dad’s help. Despite all of this he keeps smiling and keeps fighting 💪🏻. He is showing us how to walk 🥾 all over cancer and in March I am going to be doing the same. I will be taking on the challenge of walking🚶‍♀️ 10,000 steps every day for the whole month 🗓. Now I am always up for a challenge - usually one that involves baking cakes not wearing lycra and breaking out in a sweat so I am asking for you, my friends and family near and far, to support me with something so precious to me. I must confess I am totally rubbish at fundraising so I have set my target quite low (just in case I need to raid the grandkids money boxes to top it up 😂). As an added challenge, if I reach my target before 1st March I will double my number of steps to 20,000 each day 😬😬. Que more sweating and lycra🙈!! It really doesn’t matter how small a donation, if everyone in my friends list donates £1 I will smash it 💪🏻. I will keep you up to date with my progress and the highs and lows, with plenty of humour thrown in for good measure and hopefully we will all do our bit at kicking cancers ass.
