Julie's London Marathon
2021 Virgin Money London Marathon
Sun 3 Oct 2021
It is so hard to know what to write here. When I submitted my application to Cancer Research for the London Marathon, most of me didn't think I would actually get in. In August I was flying back from a holiday and I unexpectedly received the confirmation email. For a while I was a little bit overwhelmed, wondering how I would run this marathon and fundraise by myself. However, now that I'm into my training, the thing that drives me to run is knowing that this jog I am going on is absolutely nothing compared to the challenge and bravery of battling cancer. Over the last few years, I have personally come into contact with people who are fighting this battle. I have watched people who are very dear to me support their loved ones through this battle and it has honestly touched my heart. If I can do something small to try to ensure more people don't have to endure this, or at least make their cancer journey that little bit easier, then I will happily run this marathon. There are so many different causes to donate to nowadays, so I thank you for anything you may be able to contribute to this. Julie xx
