My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why we’re taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. We are running in memory of three incredible and inspirational ladies all of whom lost their fight with cancer over the last year: Our sister-in-law/Auntie, Rosemary died from cancer last August. She was one of the sweetest and most compassionate people we know. An amazing mother to her daughters, Jess and Leanne she fought her illness to the end with a positivity and strength that was inspiring to all who knew her. Auntie Kath was diagnosed with stomach cancer and coped with her illness with dignity and grace. She was an extremely kind and thoughtful yet self effacing lady who thought the world of her family and always put everyone else first. Our friend Val was diagnosed with leukaemia and then stomach cancer. She was an incredible lady who spent her life working in education and played a key role in ensuring equality in education for girls. Despite her illness she cared deeply about others and always took such a genuine interest in their lives. We feel honoured to have known all three ladies and hope that we can do them proud when we run on Sunday.
