My Story
Running a Marathon has always been an ambition of mine, having always played sport throughout my life. I am therefore delighted to have been given an amazing opportunity to run the Paris Marathon for Cancer Research UK. I am filled with dread knowing that today; one in two people are expected to be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetimes. This disease is horrific and causes so much grief for people around the globe each year which I sadly have first had experience of, having lost my mother to Cancer in 1996, when I was four years old. This disease took away my opportunity to be brought up into this world by the person who loved me the most. Life has been very difficult at points with the aching thought of what it would be like to meet my mother, as well as the underlying grief it has caused my father Ian and brother Daniel, which was difficult to watch. Our collective loss has brought the three of us extremely close and we have always tried to do as much as we can for charity to prevent others from having to go through the same. I am/ will be incredibly thankful for any donations, big or small, to help me reach my fundraising target of £1,500.
