Jo's Race for Life

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, until this point my cancer charitable donations have been ‘non commital’ by taking unwanted items to Mary Stevens hospice shop, giving to friends just giving pages, donating to charity boxes and many years ago doing a long sponsored walk. Sophie (my Niece) mentioned doing race for life in January, quite a few messages later, 10 ... usually clean ladies are signed up for ‘Pretty Muddy’ 😬 💕 Many of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives, my Mum and Goddaughter have been successfully treated and currently my Auntie and Uncle are living with cancer. Cancer research has made all of this possible and also enabled me to have some extra bonus time with a very special person, my Dad ❤️ After a very valiant fight my lovely Dad passed away peacefully on 17/03/19 🙏 I get a lot of comfort from the positive attitude Dad had all the way through his journey and also the gratitude my Dad expressed for the support, care and treatment he received. Dad was a very forward thinking 80 year old gentleman and fully aware that at the root of all Cancer treatment is research. Nothing phased him❣ My Dad was extremely proud when we signed up for pretty muddy. Sadly Dad will not be there supporting us but I will be honoured taking part in memory of my hero ❤️ Dad would definitely want to show his appreciation for donations received 😊 So on behalf of both of us ✨ ‘Thank you for making a difference’ xxxxx Jo xxxxx
