My Story
On 29th June 2025, I’ll be lacing up my trainers and heading to Clumber Park, Worksop to take part in Race for Life an event I’ve done many times over the years with Ambitions, always running or walking for others. But this year, I’m also running for myself. In January 2024, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind: surgery in February, six months of chemotherapy, three weeks of radiotherapy, and now a future filled with tablets, injections, scans, and check-ups. Life as I knew it has been flipped on its head. This race is more than just a 5K. It’s a symbol of resilience, love, and grit and I would love your support.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
