My Story
On Friday 26th July, Gordon, Lois and I are taking part in the “The Great Golf Challenge” to complete 72 holes (4 rounds) in one day to raise money for Cancer Research UK. We are playing all 4 rounds at Aberdour Golf Course and will be teeing off at the eye watering time of 5am with the final putt hopefully being made around 9:30pm. Cancer unfortunately affects everyone in some way or another be that a friend, a family member or personally and sadly Lois, Gordon and I have lost a few loved ones as a result. Being a very fortunate survivor myself I have benefitted from the kind nature of everyone who has sponsored charities such as Cancer Research UK and from the work these charities do to help sufferers and their families during the most troubling of times. Last year marked a significant moment for myself personally as after 5 years in remission from battling leukaemia I was finally given the all clear. I’m delighted Gordon and Lois have volunteered alongside myself to participate in this challenge and to help fundraise for Cancer Research UK. Please help fund life-saving research by sponsoring us and together we can beat cancer.
