Jordana's Walk All Over Cancer Fundraising Page

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Those that know me well will know that many in my life have unfortunately battled cancer. My mom was diagnosed with cancer 15 years ago. I have had grandparents and other family members suffer too and some sadly lost their battles. As a result this is a cause that as you can imagine is incredibly close to my heart. The impact that covid has had on cancer patients is immeasurable. At the height of the pandemic in some places urgent cancer referrals dropped to around 25% of usual numbers. Treatments too have been delayed with surgeries dropping up to 40% of what is expected. Simply put with the health service under so much strain diagnosis and treatment for patients has been drastically delayed - this has been estimated at 2 million people and is time that some just don’t have. This is why research is as important now as it ever has been. Cancer Research needs the additional funds to create better and more effective treatments to fight the 100+ types of cancer that exists. Of course all charities have seen income levels drop drastically in the past year as the usual events have not been able to take place and many have seen their financial positions worsen. I would be so very appreciative if you could even spare to donate £2 as giving even this could help to fund something as big as a new research centre or as small as glass slides to help analyse cancer cells.
