My Story
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to take a look at my fundraising page. Let me tell you a bit about myself; I am a third year CRUK funded PhD student and my research focusses on immunotherapy which describes manipulating the bodies built in defence mechanism, the immune system, to fight against cancerous cells. This form of therapy is emerging more and more in the clinic and is able to provide safer, more effective and more personalised forms of treatment in comparison to more conventional forms of therapy. I am taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy event with a group of girls from work because we thought it would be a fun way to raise awareness and hopefully some money for all of the great work going on at CRUK. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and our hope is to reduce this statistic with the research that we carry out. So whatever you are able to donate, big or small, will make a difference and I thank you in advance. P.S. Photos of us looking our finest caked in mud will follow shortly after the event :)
