John takes on Dryathlon

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This January I’m taking on Dryathlon and raising money for Cancer Research UK by ditching the drink for one month and fundraising for life-saving research. As many of you may know, I love a drink. What many people might not know is so did my mum. She loved it that much she ruined her liver and got Jaundis which comes from Liver disease. My mum was told she could never touch alcohol again and she never did! After getting over that scare, learning to live with no alcohol & going to the pub to just socialise and have a juice, she started smoking a lot more to compensate for the the old drinking habit and in-turn she was then diagnosed with cancer (caused by smoking) which after a long fight ended up taking her away. I thought this would be a great way to raise a little something for Cancer Research since both subjects are quite close to home for me.
