Joel's Manchester Marathon
2018 Asics Greater Manchester Marathon
Sun 8 Apr 2018
Thank you for taking the time to read my Cancer Research Giving Page. I am running the Manchester Marathon in memory of Nanny Jean and everybody else who has been effected by Cancer. Nanny Jean was a really positive influence on me and my family and she sadly lost her long battle with cancer 14 years ago. The effects of cancer on family and friends of those diagnosed is huge and that's why it's really important to me that we fund research into curing cancer. Since the 1970's the cancer survival rate in the UK has increased by 25% and we need to keep on improving this. Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. I decided to run a marathon this year after I had lost 3 stone in 4 months at the beginning of 2017 and rather comically said to myself that it would be easy now! I hadn't done any long distance running before then and have filled my training with other runs and challenges such as 5k's, 10k's, obstacle runs and steeplechases. I will be updating my page with training info and fundraising efforts throughout the next 3 months so please do come back and take a look to see how I'm doing. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
