My Story
Why am i doing Race for Life? Every year on average there are 367,000 new Cancer diagnoses in only the United Kingdom. That is nearly 30,000 people a day being diagnosed! To me this is outrageous and more awareness needs to be raised about this dreadful disease. I am trying to raise as much money as i can to put towards finding a cure and supplies to get more of an depth look at this disease. Who am i doing Race for Life for? My Uncle Billy, he had Cancer of both kidneys, and then had a Cancer tumour in his spine. He fought for 3+ years when he couldn’t fight anymore and passed away. He was a heartwarming, heartfelt, caring, always smiling guy and always made people laugh with his sense of humour. Sadly due to the current Global Pandemic i wasn’t able to attend his funeral, but i wanted to do something in his name. Kieran and i have lost friends and family to Cancer, and some are still fighting. Originally i was hoping to run and walk the 5k but due to damaging my Cocyxx i have been advised not to run by my Doctor, because i may cause further damage. So my son Kieran is running the 5k on his own, then meeting me and we will walk 5k together. So 10k will be covered on foot in total next Saturday. I am super proud of my son for wanting to do this with me, I know with one another’s support we are able to do anything. Please show your support by donating anything from £1+
