My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. My name is Joanna and I am a mum to two amazing kids. I work full time too. Due to my occupation of a protection advisor, I meet people and their stories, people who had experienced cancer and other illnesses so I do know how important it is to have a financial security and support when worse happens. I lost helath once... It wasn’t cancer. But it was the worse thing it ever happened to me in my life and changed me and my life vision completely. I do know exactly how you feel when due to illness your life is turned upside down, and you cannot have any control over your health nor your finances as you’re unable to work or be your oldself anymore, pay bills, be happy mum for your kids, happy girlfriend for your partner and happyself to closest ones. I know how it is when you cannot be efficient at work anymore. I experienced people around me who didn't’ understand. I experienced being in debts. Being stressed. I experienced being hopeless. I experienced the struggle of fight with hopeless mind and self help, dreaming to bring the healthy life back. I experienced the feeling that being healthy is your most desired dream. Being diagnosed with cancer must be most awful feeling and this is why I support Race for Life, to raise awareness and support those who went or are going through this horrible struggle. I am with them with my whole heart. 10k run is not a lot for many, for me it is a challenging distance. I do want to challenge myslef as during my illness I have learned how to overcome difficulties.
