Joanna takes on Sweatember
This September, I’m taking on Sweatember, exercising every day of the month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured by sponsoring me. My mum was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after her back, chest and ribs fractured out of the blue in 2016. She had a stem cell transplant shortly after and has since tried several different chemotherapy, trial drugs and radiotherapy and we are still hoping to find one that holds out for her. We have just found out that she now has melanoma so will be having additional treatment in the coming weeks. It has been a life changing and very emotional journey but Mum has been given lots of options each step of the way and there has always been a new treatment in line to try. I suppose any donation to research is helpful and appreciated, not only to help people like my mum but for others that need treatment now or in the future.
