My Story
Those that know me will be aware that Cancer has touched my family more than once in recent years. My truly wonderful and amazing wife Kady has beaten breast cancer twice and sadly we lost my dear sister in-law Christine early in 2019 after her long and extremely brave fight with cancer. The statistics are improving but we need to do more. Anything you can give will go to a brilliant charity that does so much and sadly will continue to be a vital organisation for the decades to come. Ride for Research 2019 is a cycling event being undertaken by employees of Nationwide Building Society and their 3rd party Strategic partner (IBM). On Wednesday 12th June 2019, the cyclists will set off from the Nationwide Headquarters in Swindon on a 71-mile ride, travelling through the counties of Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. They will be stopping at different Nationwide Branches on route before arriving back at the offices in the afternoon. All funds raised will go directly to Cancer Research UK to help fund vital research. Every year around 360,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with Cancer. CRUKs aim is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In the 1970s 1 in 4 people survived cancer, today 1 in 2 survive. CRUKs aim with your help is to reach 3 in 4 people surviving cancer for 10 years or more by 2034.
