John Quick
In November, my amazing uncle died from a brain tumour. John was the most loving father and husband to my cousin's and auntie and still remains a big part of our lives. John had a gentle soul and was always helping others. He had the best advice for you and was extremely witty. He also adored Gully and Gully adored him. I am running this race with my cousin's, auntie and all of John's family, for this unforgettable and inspirational man. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Each year in the UK, more than 9,400 people are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. With more than 100 different types of brain tumour, donations can help Cancer Research UK find out what causes them and develop better treatments to improve the outlook for patients.
