My Story
I will be running the London Royal Parks half marathon in honour of my dad, who passed away from lung cancer in September 2020. He was a keen runner, completing multiple half marathons in his lifetime and continuing to run up until his diagnosis in 2019 at aged 59. I have never been much of a runner, however since his passing I have found great solace in running (albeit at my slow pace!) and have found myself feeling closer to him as a result. In completing this race I hope to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK to support their continued research towards beating cancer, but I also want to follow in his footsteps knowing how proud he would be, and I know that he'll be by my side every step of the way cheering me on. It would mean the world to me to raise as much money as possible in honour of my dad and for all the families affected by cancer.
