Jess' Half marathon for cancer

My Story

I've decided to take on a half marathon! Not only to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something completely new, but also to raise money for a cause that means a lot to me and my family – Cancer Research UK. Cancer has touched our lives in many ways, a special mention to some loved ones, my Auntie Woo and Uncle John getting through their cancer diagnoses, but also experiencing the heartbreak of losing close people to us from this awful disease. A mention to our family friend Sandra who I share so many childhood memories with. And my partner Bens grandad John that we recently lost, who love and miss dearly. I'm taking on this challenge for them, for everyone who has fought or is currently fighting cancer, and for all the families who have been affected by it. Running a half marathon is going to be a huge personal challenge for me, lots of time taken to train and recover but knowing I'm doing it for such an important cause will keep me going, especially when things get tough! Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help fund vital research into better treatments and hopefully help more families have the happy endings we all wish for.
