My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. After running 5k a day for a whole year (April 2020 to April 2021) it’s been asked many times what will I do for my next challenge! In April 2022 I will celebrate my 50th Birthday, so I’ve decided to mark the year slightly differently….. with a series of half marathons- one a month- culminating in the London Marathon in October 2022! My first half marathon will be the Hospice to Hospice half marathon here in Jersey, on Sunday 24th October. My final run will be the London Marathon on Sunday 2nd October 2022. In between there will be a half marathon each month. So far in the diary I also have the Canaccord Genuity half marathon on Sunday 14th November, plus the London Landmarks half marathon on Sunday 3rd April 2022. Me? A Marathon? Hard to think I only bought my first pair of proper running shoes two years ago, and for a very long time I belonged in the ‘I don’t run’ club! This challenge will take me totally out of my comfort zone! And I will be juggling my training with a rather busy dance teacher’s schedule! But after completing my year-long 5k a day challenge, I believe ANYTHING is possible with a positive mindset… and a great team of running buddies! Once again I’ll be running and remembering my dear friend Karryna, who passed away in October 2018, aged just 42, following a brave and courageous cancer battle. I now also have an additional reason to run and raise money for CRUK, as sadly my brother in law John has passed away (Jan 2022). He was 49 years old and had bravely fought a rare and aggressive leukaemia for several months, before it was no longer treatable. He was the love of my sister’s life, a real gentleman with a very kind heart, one of the best. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured…… THANK YOU! 💜💜
