I'm taking part in Race for Life to raise money for important research into cancer treatments. There is still so much we don’t know about this cruel disease and I want to help fund further research xx

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research. My dad was diagnosed with cancer on his tonsil, caused by the hpv virus 2 years ago. Although they managed to successfully treat the tonsil without surgery, and gave him the ‘all clear’, the virus had unknowingly spread through his body. He was always active, he never sat still for long. And seeing him bed ridden for the last few mo the of his life was heartbreaking. He loved to be outdoors in the garden, planting seeds and growing fruit and veg. He retired this January with every intention of spending his time in the garden, however this was sadly not to be. Dad, you were stolen from us too young. I wished with every bone in my body that you would recover so that you could enjoy your retirement with mum. If only wishes could cure cancer! There is not a day that will go by that I won’t miss you. Xxxxx
