Jenny's Race for Life
Falmouth 5k 2019
Sun 12 May 2019 - Sun 12 May 2019
I'm taking part in Race for Life to raise money to find new ways to treat and hopefully prevent cancer.
In memory of
Jo Barker and other friends lost to cancer
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. I had breast cancer in 2008 which was only detected through a routine mammogram! Prompt treatment seems to have done the trick. Others are not so fortunate. A dear friend, Jo Barker, whom I first met in 2002 whilst we were both English Lecturers at Truro College, has recently died as she developed Secondary Breast Cancer. She was only 42. I will be walking the 5k (running has never been my thing!) with my rescue lurcher in Jo's memory and will also be thinking of other friends lost to this wicked disease. Please sponsor me if you would like to.
