My Story
I hate cancer. There are no words for the hatred I feel towards it. It has taken people from this world who should still be here. Who should still be laughing with their families and should be at the end of the phone. But they aren't. Because of cancer. Since the last time I ran Race for Life, we've lost someone else. In January this year, we attended the funeral of a lady who was in her 30s and threw her son a 2nd birthday party at the hospice, where she passed away 2 days later. She was happy, smiley and full of life. Cancer didn't care. I want to do all I can for the people suffering from this now, and to fund research for the future. Especially since finding out that this is a shadow following my family in particular. I have to hope that the odds are in our favour. They may not be. Don't give money because you like me, give money because you hate cancer as much as I do. The world is full of some serious crap and having people around you who make that crap a bit more bearable is all we can hope for. So let's get raising money for a cause that is smacking people, indiscriminately, all over the world. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
