Grandad
My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. As some of you may know my Grandad was diagnosed with a brain tumour and stomach cancer in 2013. When he was diagnosed he got told he had 8 weeks to live. Unfortunately 8 weeks to the day he sadly passed away. It was really important for us as a family to make those last few weeks as memorable and enjoyable as possible for him. I would like to raise money to help other people in my Grandad situation and their families.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
