Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I can't remember the last time I done any proper exercise so when Sarah suggested we sign up to Race for Life as motivation to get my lazy bum moving, I admit I did have to think twice, but I'm sure everyone somehow has been affected in some way by cancer. Sadly our dear colleague Charlotte died from cancer recently and we all wanted to do something to raise some money for ground breaking research that will one day we can beat cancer for good.

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
