My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. We all know cancer is awful, but over the past year in particular, it has really affected my family. Cancer is devastating - for the people who suffer and battle with it, and for relatives and friends who go through unimaginable pain and grief at times when cancer takes our loved ones away. As strong and brave the people who fight it are, I honestly wish they didn’t have to be. In the past 10 years Cancer Research have transformed radiotherapy research and improved radiotherapy treatments so they are more targeted and successful. They have researched into making treatments for older patients kinder, using lower, but still effective doses of chemotherapy, for those too frail to cope with the usual dose. They have developed blood tests which can give more exact details about a patient’s cancer and can lead to personalised treatment plans, access to treatment quicker and the ability to match patients with clinical trials. This is just the tip of the iceberg. So please help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by making a donation to my page. As much as I love a walk, I don’t manage 10,000 steps a day at the moment, particularly on work days so this will be an interesting challenge. Looks like I’ll be power walking through my lunch hour throughout March!!
