My Story
There are so many different forms of cancer and they're all brutal in their own way. Some are survivable, some aren't, but they're all life-changing. Several years ago a close friend of mine died after a long journey through all the trials and tribulations of her cancer. She was the same age as my mum and someone I really looked up to, so it really hit me hard. I know many others who have lost friends and family members to cancer, and the thought of discovering that I or anyone I care for has it is one of my worst fears. I'm not often one to take up a public cause but this is something I'm passionate about. Walking 10,000 steps a day might not sound like a lot to some, but anyone who knows me will know that I'm a bit of a walkaphobe and generally pretty inactive. I like going to the gym, but going for a walk just isn't something I enjoy! Over the last few weeks I've been working out roughly how far I have to go to get the steps in, so I know I can do it, but it's going to be tough! There are going to be days when I really won't want to do this, so it would be amazing if you could help cheer me on and maybe even donate a bit of spare change!
