My Story

Dear all my family and friends, It's coming up to that time of year when I run THE most important run of the year. The Race for Life! On Sunday 24th June it will be my 15th year of taking part in this amazing event to raise money for vital research. I started running in January 2004 and I remember what hard work it was training up to run my first 5k Race for Life. Completing in the Race for Life started my passion for running and I have called myself a runner ever since. Being a runner has given me some amazing experiences and I have been privileged to be able to run in lots of events and raise money for charity. The Race for Life is a meaningful run for me. Cancer has deeply affected the lives of people I love and care about. Losing loved ones to cancer is devastating. Seeing people you care about suffering because of this awful disease is heartbreaking. But Cancer Research UK do amazing things. That's why raising money for further research is so important. It saves lives. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. It is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives.1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
