My Story
Last year marked 25 years since my darling dad died from cancer. It took me a long time to grieve his loss and it still warms my heart to hear people's fond memories of him. I know he wasn't perfect but I didn't get to know him well enough to fully realise his flaws. To say I put him on a pedestal growing up would be the simplest way to explain it. I did see it though. The light slowly fading from his brilliant face each time he tried to smile through the pain of this awful disease that took him away far too soon. And so I thought 2020 would be the year I would mark the quarter-century of his passing away with some fundraising. And then coronavirus happened. Having young kids and launching a business and homeschooling and a million other things got in the way. So this year there's no excuse! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. If you can spare a few to donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured, I would be so grateful.
