Having survived breast cancer, I have personal experience of the importance of cancer research.
I was extremely fortunate to be one of only 400 people in the world to be part of a breast cancer drug trial. This enabled me to receive treatment with a drug which is normally only available to those with secondary breast cancer. Combined with my other medication it would have cost over £200000 to fund privately. Hopefully, I will be able to raise a little to fund more research, to help others.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
