My Story
I have been taking part in Race for Life for many years now and although the running gets a little harder for me each year, the memories of my Dad are always close in my heart. He was such a wonderful, loving, caring dad and I miss him dearly and would do anything to have him back with us. I will be thinking of you dad, you will be with me every step of the way! I will also be thinking of my amazing Mum who was diagnosed with breast cancer on Christmas Eve, she has been so brave and strong throughout this horrible journey, such a stalwart lady who has had a smile upon her face everyday and has not once lost her sense of humour! After undergoing two operations in three weeks we have now had the all clear, we are all over the moon, mum has five weeks of radiotherapy to complete and then she can say I did it! I beat cancer! I cannot say enough about the amazing team of nurses and doctors who have cared for my mum during both her operations, they have been so supportive and caring. Thank you for everything. Health is a valuable asset that you don't truly appreciate until it's in jeopardy. so take every moment, cherish it and live life to the full. Life is not a rehearsal!
