My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’ve decided to walk 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer. https://youtu.be/-t8ak4pVMkU Last year was a tough one for me. Catching Covid in March resulted in a chest infection which was finally treated in June. I was completely exhausted after doing simple tasks like walking round the block or walking up the stairs & then having to sleep in the afternoon. 3 sets of antibiotics and 2 inhalers later to treat the damage and inflammation in my airways, I had a slightly better summer. September I relapsed again, and after seeing a respiratory consultant in November was finally diagnosed with Long covid and a clot in my right lung. I’ve just finished taking blood thinners, and every day I’m slowly getting stronger. My experience last year however cannot to compare to the cancer journey that my sister has had to go through in the last 12 months. Her bravery, courage & sheer determination has been such an inspiration to me that I wanted to do this challenge. 10,000 steps for me at the moment is a challenge in itself, so to do this every day for a month will be tough.
