Hello friends Please join me in helping to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK to help fund vital research to beat cancer sooner. Our support helps to provide life-saving and pioneering studies into causes, prevention and treatment of cancer. The survival rate of cancer in 1970 was only 24% but over the last 40 years, this has now doubled to 50% and with our help Cancer Research UK has an ambition to accelerate this progress to see 75% of people surviving this disease within 20 years. As you are all aware my family has been hugely affected by cancer with the loss of Mom only last year. So with the grit and determination this has given me, I’m looking to make a difference to our future and help to fund further research to beat cancer sooner. On 14 October I will be taking part in the Simplyheath Birmingham half marathon, with training beginning exactly 12 weeks before this date and as I am pretty much a non-runner this is a huge challenge for me and I’ve a steep slope ahead to ensure that I am physically and mentally prepared for the big day. And that’s where you come in…each donation will be giving me that push that I need throughout my training and into the half marathon, literally every penny counts, so whether its 50p or £50 you can spare it all helps.
