My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! I have decided to swim 10k in August to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. I have decided to take on this challenge in memory of one of the most influential teachers, my PE teacher, Mr LaMantia. Despite me not ever being the most enthusiastic sports student, he was always so patient with me and allowed me to explore the different sports at my own pace. Eventually, he realised that hockey was the sport I was most engaged in, and as a Canadian, he was very supportive of that (if only we had an ice rink at school)! Mr LaMantia was an extremely loved and incredibly important part of my schooling experience, but he sadly lost his battle on the 28th of June 2022. His legacy will continue with all his students, and I hope I can make him proud with this challenge. Although Mr LaMantia wasn’t in the UK, there are around 167,000 cancer deaths in the UK every year, and the work Cancer Research UK does to help those affected and find a cure is so important. Please show your support and help fund life-saving research by donating to my page. Thank you so much, and wish me luck! Jas 💞
