My Story
Dear Friends and Family, In 2006, my life took an unexpected turn when I received the diagnosis of bladder cancer. A growth was discovered during a routine 20-week scan while I was pregnant with Jonty. The whirlwind of emotions that followed was intense, but thanks to the incredible care of the NHS, I am now on annual checkups and have been clear of cancer ever since. However, the impact of cancer didn't stop with me. In 2008, my beloved Mum was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her battle was fierce, but unfortunately, she didn't make it. Not a day goes by that we don't miss her deeply. Losing her to this disease has made the cause of cancer research even more personal and urgent for me. Cancer has left an indelible mark on my life, which is why I'm reaching out to you today. I am preparing for my fourth half marathon, but this time with a newfound purpose – to raise funds for Cancer Research. This will be my first charity run, and while I'm filled with nerves, I'm also filled with determination to make a difference. Every step I take in training, every mile I run, will be in memory of Mum and for everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer. But I can't do this alone. I need your help. Your donation, whether big or small, will support vital research and treatment efforts, helping to save more lives and bring hope to families facing this disease. Please consider supporting me on this journey. Together, we can honour Mum's memory and countless others who have battled cancer. Your generosity will not only spur me on during those 13.1 miles through the streets of London but will also bring us closer to a world where cancer is no longer a devastating force. Thank you in advance for your kindness and support. Let's make every step count in the fight against cancer. With heartfelt gratitude.
