My Story
In July 2013 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent a lumpectomy followed by 6 months of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In early 2017 my breast cancer had returned I had secondary cancer in my hip and in my lung. I had to have a hip replacement followed by radiotherapy. I then had to have 4 mths of chemotherapy to treat my lung. The cancer has reduced and I am currently on a hormone therapy to stop the cancer from growing and spreading. Treatments are advancing all the time and hopefully one day instead of " you have cancer we can't cure you but we can treat it and manage it." it will be " You have cancer but don't worry we can get rid of it." Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
