Janet's Race for Life

I'm lucky in that I've never seen the worst sides of cancer, but I know far too many people who have been through it and come out the other side- from my own grandparents, to friends, to friends of friends, or friends families. It really sucks that most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer in some way. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. One of my goals this year was to get into running, as I could tell I was picking up unhealthy habits, so I downloaded the Couch to 5k app. Nine weeks later, I want something to keep me motivated with my running journey, and Race for Life is something that has always inspired me but something I never thought I would do. But there's a first time for everything! I'm so excited to be doing this, and I hope the money I raise will help with the battle against cancer. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
