My Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In the last 50 years, Cancer Research UK’s work has helped double cancer survival in the UK. I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in November 2023, operated on in January 2024, had a temporary stoma bag, chemotherapy in March, and a reversal in July 2024. I was off work for 8 months, and kept my fitness up by walking and swimming. I have always wanted to put something back, to show my appreciation for all the work that is done to help Cancer patients, behind the scenes in research, and also with ongoing treatments. I am doing an abseil down Peacehaven Cliffs in July and I would be grateful for any donation you think you could make. Thank you.

Bowel cancers
Each year, around 44,100 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK. That’s around 120 people every single day. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat bowel cancer.
