My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k too. My daughter Jess had the original idea to enter the Race For Life event this year as she wanted to do something for Dad, Papa to his grandchildren. Papa has had much of his treatment as a result of Cancer Research and is himself on a Cancer Research Trial. Jess has recruited me, a serious 'non -runner' to join the team Papa's Girls. I am as far from a runnner as you can get but am motivated by Jess and our inspiration for the Race for Life, my Dad. Dad, and Mum have been through so much these last couple of years with lots of highs and lows during Dads treatments. As a family it has made us all closer and realised we are very lucky to have each other. To have my Dad still smiling is a gift and to be able to say thank you by fundraising to support continued Cancer Research is what we hope to do. I will finish the race, and I will run as far as I can , ( but maybe not all the way ? ) for Dad x Jess also has a page accessed through clicking on Papa Girls at the top of the page Sponsor us by donating to Cancer Research UK https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/team/papas-girls .Millie will be running with us on the day.
