Jane Walks All Over Cancer
So here I am one year later after my first ever Mammogram picked up a lump in my breast. March 19 2018, Lumpectomy to remove 2 x Grade 3 lumps, 14 lymph nodes and a double mammoplasty. May 2018, Chemotherapy commenced which took its toll on my strength, appearance and emotions. 5 infections, severe fatigue, 2 emergency procedures and 20 weeks later Chemo was complete! September 2018, Radiotherapy for 20 days using the breathe and hold technique which I managed surprising well. I didn't realise how fatigued I would feel after the radiotherapy though! Now the recovery starts, adjusting to the fact that you are no longer the same as you were before. In some ways that's a good thing, not so in others. I have been lucky that my treatment went well, albeit it was a struggle to deal with at times, but always remained positive. I have wonderful family and friends who have held my hand every day along this journey and still continue to do so. As a result of the last years treatment and my daily medication, I now suffer from anxiety, stiff legs and joints, plus Lymphedema. I need to start moving more and getting outside to help with the above. So what better way than to commit to 10K steps a day and raise money at the same time. The care and support I received from all services related to this terrible disease has been amazing. Now its time for me to give something back. Please sponsor me -any amount is gratefully received. Thank you Jane xxx
